MY FAVORITE | NEW YORK | USA My Favorite have been amongst New York City's most acclaimed cult heroes, pop philosophers and obscure anthemists since their turn-of-the-century debut Love At Absolute Zero (Double Agent Records). From a profile on Swedish National Radio to Morrissey's pre-show playlist, The Faves have received raves for their unique marriage of marginalized styles from new wave to cafe soul to anorak pop. They create soundtracks for imaginary films about “the small tragedies and triumphs of some kids from the suburbs who like sad music and taking pictures.”
Their contribution to this IPX features two hit indie singles and two videos from their recent record The Happiest Days of Our Lives (Double Agent Records), an exclusive blissful remix, and a stirring new song featuring an accordian and lyrics about a pirate ship. |

ENTRE RIOS | BUENOS AIRES | ARGENTINA Formed in 2002, this three-piece from Buenos Aires sends us a gentle sonic postcard, a collection of placid, delicate songs; music to dream to with your eyes wide open. Entre Rios is Sebastián Carreras, Gabriel Lucena and Isol. Sebastián writes the songs and lyrics, Gabriel transforms the songs into pop-electronic landscapes and then Isol incorporates her ethereal, hyper-personal vocals and a very attractive Argentinian accent.
With two LPs on hipster labels Elefant (Spain) and Darla (USA), this IPX brings us 2 new songs, 2 remixes, an instrumental version of an album track and 2 videos. |
